In short, you're FAR better off avoiding MS Office 2007 format as you won't be able to share documents with anybody. You might be able to install it on a virtual machine (like Virtual Box) and have the VM be portable, but I think the End User License Agreement may forbid that now (I know it does for Vista and some other big software packages).
